Vacancy: Full-Stack Developer to Build  Health Data Information Website

We are looking for a Full-Stack Developer who will take a key role on our newly established  team. You will be responsible for the coding, design and layout of a website, as well as  managing the server-side deployment and maintenance according to the institute’s  specifications. The applicants must have experience in the planning and the delivery of web  applications.

Job Description

You will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Writing efficient code
  • Creating websites/a website using standard HTML/CSS practices
  • Working closely with web designers, programmers, and client to produce the website ● Constant communication with other colleagues to develop and deploy their content – and ensuring there is a clear establishment of what can be created within what  timeframe
  • Researching different software programs, maintaining software documentation ● Implementing contingency plans in case the website goes down
  • Maintaining and expanding/enhancing the website once built
  • Managing a team might also be part of the job role

Qualifications and requirements

Although there are no formal educational requirements for this job, experience in the field will  be expected. Knowledge in the following is a requirement:

  • Comfortable with both front-end and back-end programming
  • Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages, such as HTML/XHTML, CSS,  JavaScript
  • Familiarity with server architecture and API principles
  • Familiarity with server-side frameworks, such as python, R, ruby, php, Java, ASP, or  ASP.NET
  • Familiarity with database systems such as MySQL, Oracle, or MongoDB ● Experience with R and R Shiny is not a must, but will be very appreciated. Experience  with Tableau and PowerBI could be an alternative.

If you are a fresh graduate, a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in the following subjects should be  included:

  • Computer Science
  • Information System
  • Other relevant fields

Aside from these skills, there are a number of qualities to be highlighted:

  • Thorough functional knowledge and coding experience
  • Ability to multitask with strict time constraints, budgets, and goals
  • Strong communication skills
  • Management experience or examples that show ability to manage a team, should this  role involve team management

 

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year.

  • Full-time position (40 hours per week) with a term of appointment of maximally 1 year.
  • The salary will be negotiated according to experience and skill level.
  • Positions will be available in early September 2021.
