Improving Maternal and Child Health Status through Various Intervention and Intersectoral Collaboration

Why mother and child die? Where they die?

The underlying factors can be found at community setting, health-centers, and referral hospitals. Therefore the intervention can be organized at the community, health centers and hospitals. In this context we need Mapping Intervention application.

MCH Mapping Intervention in a District/ City

This activity uses problem solving method within the context of the situation setting (left side). From the problem solving process, than it will look for intervention that is appropriate with the problem (right side).

From other perspective, intervention is divided into two large group:

1. Direct intervention in society (dark green), and
2. Intervention that strengthen management system in program (dark blue).

The first group intervention refers to the article in Lancet, such as scheduled intervention in society, family intervention, and clinic intervention until PONEK Hospital. This mapping of intervention is intended to implement MCH policy and program in a district comprehensively and to have policy that is appropriate with the problems. The intervention can be intersectoral collaboration.

The Discussion:

1. What are the role of MNCH book in this process?
2. Do we need a working group of MNCH program from various organizations (the intersectoral collaboration)?
3. How we can bring the issue to policy maker and planning-budgeting process?
4. Describe the situation in your country
